Opportunity| Duty Description:

Namib Poultry Industries (Pty) Ltd is a fully integrated broiler farming and processing operation situated approximately 30 km outside of Windhoek on the farm Klein Okapuka and has been in operation since 2012.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Coaching and mentoring a designated Team Leader or Trainee Supervisor in the effective day-to-day 
Supervisory functions of the various production processes and activities within the Abattoir Processing Plant.

KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Daily pre-operational Start-up and Shut down checks as required
• Adherence to scheduled production plan and reporting outputs and efficiencies 
• Correct allocation of required manning levels to specific production processes
• Prioritising actions, monitoring processes, pro-active problem solving on the production floor
• Performance monitoring and evaluation of subordinate food handler staff
• On-the-job training of food handler staff
• Understanding the Quality Assurance, Food Safety and Quality Management System Policies and Procedures including relevant records and documentation
• Maintaining housekeeping standards in all areas of responsibility

Opportunity Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE

• Proficient in English, being bilingual will be advantageous      
• Police clearance
• Minimum Grade 12 (NQF4) passed
• Extensive (5 years plus) supervisory and trainer work experience and background within a FMCG food processing and manufacturing environment (poultry, red meat, fish, dairy industry)
• Demonstrable ability to coach and train within a food production facility
• Recognized Food Safety/HACCP training course completed highly desirable
• Recognized Occupational Health and Safety / First Aid / Fire Fighting training course completed advantageous      
• Poultry Meat Examiners / Inspectors course completed advantageous
• Recognized Production Management Diploma/Certificate advantageous                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                
• Valid Code BE drivers’ licence
